What Are Dentures?
Dentures are custom-made removable appliances that replace missing teeth. Today's dentures are more natural-looking and comfortable than ever before.
Whether you've lost one tooth or a full arch, dentures can restore your smile and the function of your bite. We offer several types to suit different needs:
- Partial dentures — replace one or a few missing teeth, clipping onto remaining natural teeth
- Full dentures — replace all teeth in the upper or lower arch
- Immediate dentures — fitted on the same day as tooth extractions
- Implant-retained dentures — clip onto dental implants for superior stability

Getting Your Dentures

Initial consultation
We examine your mouth, discuss your needs, and explain all available options. This is your opportunity to ask questions and express your concerns.
Impressions & measurements
We take detailed impressions of your mouth and record your bite. For custom colours and shapes, we may also take photographs.
Wax try-in
Before the final denture is made, you try a wax model to check the fit, appearance, and bite. We make any adjustments needed.

How long does it take to get dentures?
The process typically takes 4-6 weeks from initial consultation to final fitting. This includes time for impressions, try-in appointments, and crafting by the dental laboratory. We work efficiently while ensuring the best possible results.
Will dentures be comfortable?
Modern dentures are designed for a comfortable fit. There is an adjustment period as your mouth adapts, and some minor sore spots may occur initially. We provide adjustments as needed — this is included in your treatment. Implant-supported dentures offer the most stable, comfortable fit.
How do I care for my dentures?
Remove and rinse dentures after eating, brush daily with a soft denture brush, and soak overnight in a denture solution. Clean your mouth before reinserting. Avoid hot water, which can warp dentures, and handle them carefully over a soft surface.
Will I be able to eat normally with dentures?
Most patients return to eating a normal diet with practice. Start with soft foods and gradually introduce harder items. With implant-supported dentures, you can eat almost anything with confidence. Upper dentures usually feel more stable than lower ones.
How long do dentures last?
With proper care, quality dentures last 5-10 years. Over time, your jawbone changes shape, so dentures may need relining or replacing. We check your dentures at regular check-ups and advise when adjustments or new dentures are needed.
What are the differences between denture types?
Acrylic dentures are lightweight and economical. Cobalt chrome dentures have a metal framework for greater strength and a thinner, more comfortable fit. Flexible dentures use a nylon material for added comfort. Implant-supported dentures clip onto dental implants for maximum stability.
Do I still need dental check-ups with dentures?
Yes, even with full dentures, regular check-ups are important. We check the fit of your dentures, examine your gums and soft tissues for health, and screen for oral health concerns. We recommend an annual check-up even if you have no remaining natural teeth.
Can I get same-day or temporary dentures?
For immediate tooth replacement, we can provide temporary dentures on the same day as extractions. These are designed for aesthetics and function while your mouth heals. Once healing is complete, we fit permanent dentures that are more precisely crafted.
